Corinne Bailey Rae combines her nostalgic voice with engaging melodies to create songs that seem from another time-and perfect for this one. Her self-titled debut album sold four million copies, and now she’s back with The Sea, a major creative leap.She’s embarking on a North American tour this summer, taking her slow, soulful show on the road. Rae’s music warms up a room, which would explain why her first album entered the U.K. album chart at #1 in June 2006 and she was the first British female singer-songwriter in decades to have her debut enter The Billboard 200 in the Top 20.  Her debut album was certified Platinum in both Canada and the U.S.  She won a Q award, a MOJO award, an Image award and two MOBO awards and was nominated for three GRAMMY awards – ‘Record Of The Year’ and ‘Song Of The Year’ for her first single, “Put Your Records On,” and ‘Best New Artist.’  After her performance on the 2007 GRAMMY Awards telecast, the album rocketed into the Top 5 of The Billboard 200.  In 2008, “Like A Star,” her second single, was nominated for ‘Song Of The Year’ and Herbie Hancock’s River: The Joni Letters, on which Bailey Rae sang the title track, won the GRAMMY for ‘Album Of The Year.’  Bailey Rae is living up to the hype-so you won’t want to miss the first time she touches down on North American soil in 3 years!
