Tonight, June 23rd, professional Vancouver artists will share, first hand, how they made it in the field of [their] dreams. (Heh.)  Ten typographers, architects, product designers, entrepreneurs, information designers and unclassifiable thinkers speak about how their practice has evolved over the past 10 years, and how they came to be doing what they are doing today. Maybe they have just the guidance you, as an amateur, are seeking. This is one free event in a series of special courses, workshops and other interesting one-offs in Emily Carr’s Design in the Field series. Also coming up: Hack your Bike (June 24 – 26) – learn how to make an LED message appear on your wheels as you ride, or make numerous bikes glow red when you get close to each other!  For the seriously technologically minded.

Tonight’s speakers include: Marianne Amodio (Architect, Marianne Amodio Architecture Studio), Brian McBay (Executive Director, 221A Artist Run Centre), Sarah Hay (Breavo and Vancouver Design Nerds), Christy Nyiri (christynyiri.com), Tara Robertson (Emily Carr Systems and Technical Services Librarian), Oliver Kelhammer, and Caroline Boquist + Daniel Kozlowski (WALRUS).
