I’m not really a Slice/TLC fan (although I did watch like five episodes of Say Yes To The Dress at my friend’s apartment the other day, and that shit is great), but I AM a fan of Gail Vaz-Oxlade. Not only does she yell obscene things in coffee shops while talking about credit ratings, on TV, she intervenes on over-spenders and helps them turn their lives around. She’s expanded her empire to books and a website, all designed to help you get your shit together, finance-wise.

On her site, in addition to a blog where she posts recipes and a Q&A section, you’ll find something seriously handy: a Resources section, where she posts questionnaires and interactive worksheets. No matter what stage of life, or finances, you’re in, there’s something for you.

From investing to debt to student finances to wedding planning to just plain budgeting, print out one of these babies and feel instantly more proactive about your financial situation. Then actually use it. It may look scary, but chances are once you write everything down, you’ll be a lot smarter about where your money’s going, and a lot less likely to spontaneously purchase.
