SheDoesTheCity will be gifting one lucky book lover a bundle of exciting reads from Canadian authors! In celebration of The Word on the Street (WOTS), Canada’s largest book and magazine festival, one of our readers will receive a prize pack of six books from women authors we’re thrilled to see at the event this weekend, September 27-28. Read on to find out how you can enter to win.
This year’s edition of the beloved, free, outdoor literary festival will be hosted in David Pecaut Square. Dozens of your favourite Canadian and Indigenous authors will be attending The Word on the Street, participating in fascinating panel discussions, and running informative writers’ workshops.
This year’s programming includes a spotlight on Toronto-based love stories, a conversation about motherhood in the arts, deep dives into monsters, medicine, and food, and panels dedicated to poetry and magazine writing. And if you’re bringing a younger bookworm along, be sure to check out the CBC Kids Stage for an exciting lineup of author readings, character meet-and-greets, and more.
And of course, if you’re looking for some new additions to your bookshelf, the festival’s vibrant outdoor marketplace will return this weekend! Tons of Canadian and local vendors will be on site, eager for visitors to explore their offerings, including book and magazine publishers, retailers, and arts organizations.
The Word on the Street is a Toronto staple and a vital celebration of Canadian and Indigenous storytelling. To share our excitement for this year’s festival, we’re offering our newsletter subscribers the chance to win the following books from 6 incredible Canadian women authors—all of which you can see at The Word on the Street this weekend.
