AMREF Canada has recently re-launched their popular Coffeehouse Speaker Series on Global Development. These free talks occur on the first Wednesday of every month, at 6pm at Urbana Coffee at 1033 Bay Street.

Previous topics have included the challenges and benefits of volunteering abroad, and the drought in the Horn of Africa. February’s discussion (happening on Wednesday, February 8th) will explore how to better include people with disabilities into development programming. Next month, they will discuss the role of technology in health care in developing countries—every topic in the series relates in some way to health in Africa. Each event features experts on the topic of the night, and an open forum discussion at the end. No development experience is required to participate—just a desire to learn and discuss!
