As always, The Drake will play host to a slew of parties and with an “Open Call” theme, the Queen West hot bed of culture welcomes all to walk the red carpet and join the revelry ’till 4AM. From the ongoing Future’s Projections showcase to hosting celebrities on the Sky Yard, Tattersall is integral to ensuring that it all runs smoothly.

“There’s a strange man in my cab! Wait – Tim Roth is in my cab!” Tattersall recalls of serendipitously timed party hopping hoopla.

How are you preparing for TIFF right now? Water, sleep, researching TIFF movies, getting my mani/pedi and aesthetics all taken care of early at Ritual.

During TIFF, where would we most likely find you at 2PM? At 2AM? 2pm – meeting up with some of the countless friends I have who come into town every year for the festival.  2am – undoubtedly saying my first of 3 or 4 rounds of goodbyes to everyone on the Drake Sky Yard… it’s the most impossible place to leave, especially with the 4am licence in the Drake Lounge!

What has been your most memorable TIFF party to date? Why? Funnily enough, it was at Drake before I worked here – The annual TIFF kickoff Young Filmmakers party is always a blast.  A hugely fun  party with just the right mix of wildly interesting people and celebs and exciting up and comers in the industry – you never know who’s going to walk around the corner. I also really love the Canadian Film Centre’s Annual BBQ. It fosters a great sense of pride about the film talent in our own country. Many of my friends have benefited from their amazing programs.

What’s your celebrity story, or moment, that gets rehashed most at dinner parties? Definitely leaving an Alliance party a few years ago, getting into a cab and turning to find Tim Roth getting in on the other side. We jumped in, slammed our respective doors, turned and looked at each other….and didn’t know what to do. A taxi-off! I remember thinking “There’s a strange man in my cab! Wait – Tim Roth is in my cab!”

What are three things you need to survive during TIFF? Water, lip gloss and a favourite pair of heels…..plus my Blackberry.

What film are you looking forward to most this year? Let Me In: I loved the Norwegian film Let The Right One In and there’s been a lot of chatter that this US remake stands up to the original.

What party are you most excited about this year? The best part about TIFF nightlife is that the party you think will be the best is never the best party. The festival is full of surprises. There is always that moment of “Is this really happening?”

If you could pick the brain of one filmmaker, who would it be? Werner Herzog. I know – crazy.  But fascinating. Or Peter Weir.

If you could grab a drink with one celeb who is attending TIFF this year, who would you choose? It’s a toss-up between Bruce Springsteen (I know – not an actor!) and Ryan Gosling…

What’s the first thing you’ll do once TIFF is over? I tend to get immersed in TIFF…..so it’s important to make up for lost time afterwards with some special people in my life!
