Want to check out Canzine Festival of Zine Culture + Independent Arts this Saturday at the AGO? Do it! They’ve got a drop-in Kids Zone so you can bring the littles with you.

Here’s what they can look forward to:

1:30–5 p.m. Little Island Comics Kids and Adults Hands On Drop-In Area. Use old comics to make new ones at the Kids Comics Collage Centre!

2–4 p.m Mini-Comic Making Workshops led by cartoonist Tory Woollcott (Science Comics: The Brain). Learn to create your own mini comics and zines! All ages are welcome.

3–4 p.m. Make a Superhero Trading Card. Ever imagined being a superhero? Of course you have! Well, now’s your chance to make that dream real! Immortalize yourself on your own, personalized, superhero trading card. Design your own costume. Assign yourself some stats. Get down with some sweet, sweet powers. Be wild. Be creative. Be Super! Jennifer Chen celebrates the launch of her new YA book for kids, Super, with this special hands-on event!

Presented by Broken Pencil, Canzine Festival of Zine Culture + Independent Arts is a one-day celebration of zines, comics and underground printing. It takes place Saturday, September 22 from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the AGO; the Kids Zone will be open from 1:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
