Kirsten Dunst, Emile Hirsch, James Franco, George Clooney, Elizabeth Olsen and Bono all hit The Thompson Hotel for the swanky Vanity Fair, (Belvedere) RED and Fox Searchlight bash. This year the magazine celebrated TIFF films Martha Marcy May Marlene and The Descendants, which are both receiving praise from critics. When the celebs weren’t swooshing around custom (Belvedere) RED cocktails, they were riding the elevator up and down to get a view from the sexy rooftop pool. Although we would have loved the splash, no one reportedly jumped in. Of all the parties at TIFF, it is definitely this one that Toronto socialites most want to crash but guestlist was tight and with enormous security standing guard, the thought of dressing like a caterer was somewhat intimidating. On street level, star fuggers (as the Grid likes to call them) clad in glittery gowns desperately hung around The Counter, ordering up greasy grilled cheese sandwiches while experiencing the A-list party via Twitter.
