Prior to the sky ripping open on Wednesday evening and completely ruining any plan for a patio drink, the team at Rock-it Promotions executed a perfect early evening celebration for Toronto’s favourite scooter and apparel boutique, Motoretta. Located in the heart of Little Italy, Motoretta celebrated its 10th anniversary with a redesign and bash. The it spot for on-the-move style set, brought out iwantigot blogger, Anita Clarke, Toronto’s most dapper duo, Now Style Editor Andrew Sardone and designer Philip Sparks, party peeps like April Wozny, Canucks in Hollywood like Katie Boland and Sebastian Piggott and one no-bull PR maven from NYC, Kelly Cutrone.

Pretty party goers appeared more enthused with snapping pics on a Vespa that matched their shoe than the flowing drinks. But beyond the stylish machinery being shown off, Motoretta now carries apparel brands including Ben Sherman and Fred Perry.

With temperatures rising (in tandem with gas prices) a scooter represents an ideal alternative to riding on crowded subways, or your gas-guzzling car. Ranging between $799 and $8,000, there is a bike that is calling for you to GET ON. Vrooooooom.

Yamaha, Vespa, Piaggio, oh my! Here’s how to scooter in style:

Your Ride – The Stella Scooter in creme (available at Motoretta beginning at $3,899) is a member of Genuine Scooter Company’s fleet of scooters. A happy medium between charming-vintage and modern accessibility.

Your Scarf – Do you really want your hair flying into your freshly-lacquered lips? This Urban Outfitters Desert Printed Eternity Scarf is purdy but also doubles as a hood for windy days.

Your Jacket – Yawn. The leather motorcycle jacket can be such a bore…but with fellow Canadian design house Mackage, bore no more! Mackage Waterfall Leather Jacket.

Your look-at-me-outfit – You need something that won’t get caught in the wheel nor ‘expose’ you while zooming from A to B. The only thing that will be exposed is just the right amount of midriff and thus you wear a Phillip Lim Tie Front Romper in creme.

Your Shades – Turning heads and making Audrey proud, get your ass to House of Harlow and try on the 1960 Nicole Retro Oversized Sunglasses

Your Kicks – Isabel Marant Perkins suede and leather wedge sneakers. Available in white canvas, gray leather, and taude suede pictured.

Now all you need is a soundtrack because let’s be honest, driving a Vespa dressed like this is pure cinema.
