April 16th is National Eggs Benedict Day, which is awesome, because Eggs Benedict rules. To celebrate, we’ve put together a list of our favourite places to eat Eggs Benedict in the city. As this is a highly sensitive and personal debate, we would like to foster more of a discussion than create a definitive list. Please, share your favourites in the comments, and we can all enjoy hollandaise-smothered delight together.

County General’s Eggs Benedict

Location: 936 Queen St. W.
In addition to brown butter hollandaise (mmm), upon request, their meaty benny (usually served with back bacon) usually has a delicious vegetarian option.
Price: $15

2 Eggs…Poached at Edward Levesque’s Kitchen

Location: 1290 Queen St. E.
Delicious poached eggs served on crusty bread, cornbread, or polenta with delightful accents like curried puy lentils, lamb sausage, gorgonzola and more. Not for purists, but so, so good.
Price: $14-$16

Eggs Benny at Farmhouse Tavern

Location: 1627 Dupont St.
A delicious benny on a country biscuit that comes with gravlax or spinach. And you can add foie gras to anything at Farmhouse Tavern for just $8.
Price: $14

Eggs Federal at The Federal

Location: 1438 Dundas St. W.
This is a controversial choice (WE PROMISED YOU CONTROVERSY), because Eggs Fed doesn’t technically involve any hollandaise. Instead, your poached eggs are smothered with mushroom tarragon cream, which you can complement with bacon or spinach.
Price: $12

Veda’s Choice at Mildred’s Temple Kitchen (Above)

Location: 85 Hanna Ave
Another controversial entry, as it comes on a croissant and smothered in bearnaise sauce with your choice of smoked salmon or rosemary bacon (they’ll also do it plain for vegetarians). Oh, so worth it.
Price: $14.50

Over Easy’s Tomato and Avocado Benedict

Locations: 208 Bloor St. W., 56 Yonge St.
A classic hollandaise, fresh chunks of tomato and avocado, and some seriously excellent home fries: Over Easy does this dish just right. And they have six different varieties of benedicts if this one doesn’t already have you drooling.
Price: $10.99-$11.99

The Oxley‘s Eggs Benedict with Cheese Scones

Location: 121 Yorkville Ave.
So good. So British. A benny to please the Queen and her corgies. And what is eating eggs benedict about if not pleasing the Queen and her corgies? SMASHING, GUV!
Price: $12
