I was interviewing Caitlynne (see below) when suddenly a garbage can flew past us. This sort of thing does not usually happen in Toronto, a city where garbage cans prefer to stay put. We look over and see three large men pummeling each other. And I mean pummeling: punches to the face, heads bashed into the nearby columns -etc. Some one yelled “THERE’S A GUN!” and with only the briefest stoner delay, all 10000 people at Dundas Square began charging away from the fight. Tables were knocked over, fingers were stepped on as the mob scrambled to the other side of the square. Swept away by the mass hysteria, I joined the stampede, my camera flailing around my neck and my banana fatally bruising in my bag. Outside of the Hard Rock Cafe, I found Caitlynne again. I had taken her photo moments before the madness and decided the most logical thing to do at that point was to resume the interview. “So ummm, what’s your favourite thing to do in the city after you smoke one?” I noticed how ridiculous this was when I realized I was having a hard time standing (let alone writing) because my entire body was shaking.

So here, my dear readers, are some of the happiest looking stoners in Dundas Square, with a reminder that we are out there day and night, toiling (hypothetic) gunfire to bring you the news you need.

This is Elli Stuhler signing out and still craving a banana.
