There are a lot of great films being made by Canadians. Unfortunately, not all of them make it to the big screen.

This weekend, Cinecycle (401 Richmond St. W.) presents Censured in Canada, a film festival for Canadian-based artists and work marginalized by Canadian festivals and institutions. The reasons behind the marginalization varies; some were due to a lack of right credentials or connections, while others challened aesthetic, cultural or social norms.

The inugural lineup features 21 films, covering everything from homelessness to high school romance and suicide.

$10 advance tickets available online. Runs Saturday and Sunday from 12-6 p.m.
