Local Montreal artists Sophie Arshoun and Laurence Clément are the two pretty faces behind Les Redoreuses, a gorgeous line of repurposed-and-vintage window and door frames that have been creatively transformed into coat racks, chalk boards, jewellery holders and many other things that would look stunning in your entranceway. Fact.
SDTC discovered the pair at last weekend’s Wellington Street Sale in Verdun (a Montreal neighbourhood that, as a brief side note, now claims the best-people-watching crown) where the duo’s simple display of colourful, unique creations easily caught our eye. Arshoun and Clément’s creative restoration of metal, glass, wood and fabric results in truly wonderful items: glass-doorknob key holders, two-pane window mirrors and recycled fabric wallets with brass hardware are among the products for which Les Redoreuses is rapidly becoming known.
On Saturday June 16 and Sunday June 17, Les Redoreuses will host a craft fair at their studio space (7080 Alexandra, suite 100) with a fabulous group of other Montreal artists. The sale will run from 9am to 6pm both days.
Also, check them out at the 2012 Spring Puces Pop art fair on June 9 and 10!
