We’re excited to announce a special in-store performance for this year’s North by Northeast Music Festival. Presented by She Does The City and Audioblood at the very cool Model Citizen in Kensington Market (jewellery! Pocket squares! Screenprinted tees! Dia de los Muertos skulls!) on Saturday, June 16th, Ben Caplan will host Halifax’s The Town Heroes, Australia’s The Aves, and Hamilton’s Inlet Sound at an intimate live show.

Expect to discover your three new favourite bands. The Town Heroes are two dudes from Halifax who make sing-along rock music that sounds like summer. Their album, Birds and Fear, conjures neither of those things, but instead, long bike rides through sunny neighbourhoods, making out beside bodies of water, and dancing your face off in the sweaty summer heat. Basically, they sound good. The Aves hail from Adelaide, Australia and create dreamy folk-pop that will have you swaying along. Inlet Sound weave folky magic, and their nostalgic love songs put a grin on our faces and are the perfect soundtrack for long drives down the highway with your favourite person. (All pleasurable activities that will be eclipsed in pleasurability by this special in-store performance.)

Join us for super-fun-party-times on Saturday, June 16th from 6:30 pm-8:30 pm at Model Citizen, 279 Augusta Ave. See you there!
