What if a bowl of cereal could inspire a garden?

In an effort to get families talking about where their food comes from, specially marked Kashi Canada boxes of cereal and bars will include vegetable seed packets. Finish your breakfast, and then march outside to plant some tomatoes! Or start with a conversation about farm to table.

The seeds are just one part of the #PlantItForward movement: A creative partnership between Kashi Canada and Evergreen Canada that will help build and support community gardens across Canada, inspire people to connect with the soil, and encourage healthy discussion about food, farming and sustainability.

We’ve been a huge fan of Kashi foods for years, so it is with honour and delight that we’ve been chosen to act as ambassadors, helping to spread the word about the #PlantItForward movement, an innovative campaign that we believe in and applaud.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll get our hands dirty and share our own home gardening experiences, and join the #PlantItForward conversation about connecting with real food.

In the meantime, check out the video below to see how Kashi Canada is getting the conversation started with kids. LOVE THIS.
