How’s this for adorable? The chef at Splendido, the contemporary fine dining restaurant on Harbord, has crafted a Valentine’s Day menu based on his fiancee’s favourite romantic comedy, Serendipity. A meal at Splendido already guarantees a romantic evening, but Executive Chef Victor Barry wanted to create something a little special to help customers celebrate the most romantic day of the year. The result? The Love is Splendido contest. One lucky pair of lovers will win a private cooking lesson with Barry, plus all the ingredients to make an amazing romantic meal at home.

The menu takes inspiration from the film’s New York setting, and the iconic cafe the main characters visit. Waldorf salad, pumpkin ravioli, and an ice cream sundae with all the fixings: may we suggest two spoons? It’s guaranteed to be a meal you’ll always remember, and all you have to do is like Splendido’s Facebook page to win. Now go write some sweet nothings in a used copy of Love in the Time of Cholera, and you’re all set!
