Did you know the AGO is over a hundred years old? The Grange (on the AGO’s south side) was the first home of the Art Museum of Toronto. It was built two hundred years ago and is now our city’s oldest existing brick structure.

We may not have a DeLorean, but we do have a time machine in the form of AGO’s extensive archives, which hold thousands of vintage photographs. #RetroAGO is a new, ongoing series that will take you back to various eras in the AGO’s history.

But they’re starting off in the not-so-distant past! This week, view photos from the gallery school in the 1980s. Got a photo of your own to add? Email them a recollection or a photo, and your story may be featured in #RetroAGO!
