“Gnarly, radical, on the block I’m magical.” You might know Kreayshawn (real name Natassia Gail Zolot) from her smash hit “Gucci Gucci“, where she comes off like the flyest girl in town. Or maybe you saw her reveal her family history, talking about having a rock star travelling gypsy mom, in this awesome interview with Nardwuar.

Kreay was in town this weekend, and before taking the stage at The Hoxton on Sunday to perform off her album Somethin’ Bout Kreay, the pint-sized rapper did a press meet & greet and autograph signing with fans at Community 54. Fangirls braved the cold to wait for their turn to meet lady-Kreay, and even brought fan art galore. Aww!

Her music style may be more popular at home on the west coast, but her fans love her big time no matter the area code. We got a chance to have a chat with the kawaii (cute) rapper, and she filled us in on tour life, partying in the bus, smoking weed, and pickle juice. Yup. According to her twitter feed, shots of pickle juice and vodka are often consumed backstage on her current #GroupHugTour with other fierce females Honey Cocaine and Rye Rye. It has a reputation of cancelling out a hangover, and cancelling out the wicked after taste of a pure shot of Smirnoff.

She’s having tons of fun on the tour, and after the Toronto show was heading across the border to play in Detroit before heading home to LA to celebrate Thanksgiving. And chill out. Hard. You got the feeling that on her days off, she basically just wants to sleep in late, smoke weed, giggle, munch out, and create. She looks like she stepped out of a comic book.

She saluted her Canadian fans in front of our flag, and took her turn at the vintage arcade games lining Community 54’s entrance-way. Then her fans came in for autographs proving, I’m sure, that everywhere Kreayshawn goes, the room is “full of bad b*tches.”
