On Saturday, May 4 at 3 p.m., take part in a special artist’s tour of This Land, featuring new work by Sarah Anne Johnson.

Using playful and unconventional materials and methods (think cotton balls, fake flowers and Photoshop), This Land features landscape scenes from a variety of places that depict natural beauty and wonder in a multitude of guises. Instead of trying to harmoniously fuse the real and ideal, Johnson plays with high and low art, two and three dimensionality, sincerity and mockery to challenge the viewer and magnify the dark truths about our relationship with the environment.

This Land runs from May 2 from June 15 at Stephen Bulger Gallery (1356 Dundas St. W). Get more info here.
