Itsi Bitsi has confected another frosted curio just in time for Valentine’s Day. Vanilla Volcano, a spicy sweet concoction made with vanilla, cinnamon and cayenne, joins the St Henri cake shop’s other deliciously kooky flavors, including Mojito (with mint lime icing) and Loukoum (Turkish delight). The menu changes daily, with 4 classic cupcakes (Vanilla, Chocolate, Choco-Coconut, and Vanilla-Coconut) available everyday, fleshed out by a rotating roster of 2 daily flavors. I’ve had heated discussions about the merits of Earl Gray (my favorite, get it on Tuesday) versus Bet Velvet (made with Beets, available on Wednesday). Large cupcakes are always on hand ($3 for one, $20 for eight, taxes included); mini cupcakes must be ordered at least 24 hours ahead.

Itsi Bitsi’s Valentine’s cupcake gift box features 6 large cupcakes (Vanilla, Chocolate, Cosmo, Loukoum, Choco-Caramel, and Vanilla Volcano) for $20. Orders can be placed starting Feb. 11th. Get a box and share ‘em with your sweetie, your mom, your dog, whoever! (A dog is best: you can keep the chocolate ones for yourself!)
