Winnipeg-bred, Hamilton-based singer-songwriter IsKwé will be performing live at Union Summer on Saturday, August 18 from 7 to 8 p.m. IsKwé’s music weaves together her Irish and Cree/Dené roots with poignant, politically charged lyrics, dark and soulful R&B rhythms, electronic flourishes, and trip hop breakbeats.

We’ve been fangirling over IsKwé (which is pronounced iss-kway and translates to woman in her native language) since we witnessed her powerful presence during AGO Creative Minds at Massey Hall earlier this year. We even had her take over our IG so that we could peep behind the scenes into her everyday life. We can’t wait to cap off the summer by seeing this powerhouse tear up the stage.

Union Summer (presented by TD) is fifty days of live music and cultural performances outside Union Station and the perfect way to soak up Toronto’s summer season. Get a glimpse of the city’s incredible talent while sipping a cold pint on the licensed garden patio. Union Summer operates Monday through Sunday between 11:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. until August 19.
