Does your gym have an in-gym refrigerator doling out icy cold face cloths? No? What about a coven of plastic surgeons set to blast your wrinkles and cellulite into oblivion? Still nothing? How about a eucalyptus steam bath? Hair salon? Yoga barn?! My new gym does.

Other gyms simply pale in comparison to Victoria Park, a one-stop total wellness center in the heart of Westmount. I paid a visit to Vic Park last week and was floored – on their rustic-yet-chic yoga barn floor! Vic Park’s cornucopia of services defies the limits of a single paragraph:

– Gym: state of the art fitness equipment, but without those pesky sign up sheets and 30-minute cut-off times. Park yourself on an exercise bike and stay all day if you like! If you get overheated, grab a cool soothing facecloth from in-gym refrigerators. If you get hungry after your 6-hour elliptical session, head down to the…

– …Park Café or Gourmet Health Food Store: serving up healthy treats made in collaboration with in-house gourmet chefs and nutritionists. They also offer a home meal program, with a customized meal plan catered to your every need.

– Feeling wizened? Vic Park can help there too. The MediSpa offers skin care treatments done by Canada’s leading dermatologists and plastic surgeons.

Vic Park also offers not only a wide range of group classes, from yoga and pilates to Zumba and Cardio kick box but also aesthetic and spa services (manicure-pedicure, several types of massage, body polishes, facials, hair removal, make-up application and hair salon); a thermal circuit (traditional Finnish sauna, a eucalyptus steam Bath, a refrigerated cold room and a glacial shower); and boutique (featuring cosmetics, skin and body care products, as well as my beloved Miel underwear).

This place has everything! While the price tag for a membership is a tad steep ($200/a month), just think: you’ll pretty much be living here, so you’ll actually be saving money!
