The eccentric men over at Good Food Revolution have organized a very special supper next Tuesday (June 19th) that will not only delight your taste buds but promises to feed your hungry mind.

Held at a secret location in Rosedale, this six-course dinner will celebrate Elizabeth David: one of the most influential food writers of the 20th century and a hero of ours. She inspired homemakers in Britain to experiment with gourmet dishes and brought Mediterranean flavours into households that were a little too familiar with bangers and mash.

Between sumptuous courses, Jane Rodmell of All The Best Fine Foods (Hint!) will lead discussion about Elizabeth, her influence and legacy.

Just reading the menu turns us on and whets our palate:

Pissaladière

Chicken liver paté served with carottes marinées, onions à la monégasque, cornichons, and French olives with freshly baked baguette

Escalope de poulet (tarragon cream sauce)
Pomme Anna
Endive and leek braised in butter

Mâche with lemon thyme vinaigrette

Cheese course

Tarte aux fruits

Tickets for this intimate and delectable affair are $175 and include dinner and wine pairings. The charming Jamie Drummond, sommelier and editor of Good Food Revolution, will lead each pairing with his effusive sense of humour and impressive wisdom of good wine.
