Do you harbour secret dreams of hitting the decks? If you’ve ever wanted to learn to DJ but felt too sheepish to start, a new free workshop is about to demystify things for you.

This Saturday (November 19th) head to Xpace Cultural Centre (303 Lansdowne Avenue#2) for a crash course in the fine art of DJing. This is an inclusive workshop meant for anyone who wants to learn, with a priority for those typically underrepresented in the DJing world – women, trans, queers, racialized and Indigenous folks. All are welcome!

Trailblazing DJ Mary Mack will help you to build core skills and go over the technology basics of DJing with turntables and a mixer as well as newer technologies that allow you to cue and manipulate digital tracks. No equipment is needed, but bring some MP3 tracks on a USB key, or a few records to spin.

Workshop is free, but you gotta register. Visit here.
