We started getting into burlesque a couple of years ago and have become completely obsessed with the art form. Perhaps it’s the ease and charisma with which Toronto’s sassiest ladies (and gentleman) shimmy around the stage. Maybe it’s the dynamic performances which combine humour with flexibility and a sprinkling of naughtiness? Could it be the cheerful vibe that permeates every show, and the fun and quirky audience that stays super engaged throughout?

We can’t wait for the ultimate burlesque-a-thon beginning this week! And, we’re not talking about watching Cher and Xtina battling it out, back-to-back on Netflix, so we can learn all of Cher’s lines (that’s what we did last week).

Now in its seventh year, the Toronto Burlesque Festival is one of our favourite summer-time fests in the city. Produced by Sauci Calla Horra (Skin Tight Outta Sight), Coco Framboise and Ava Noir, TBF takes place between July 24th and July 27th, and is, quite literally, the most exciting and sexy four days on the Toronto calendar. Prepare to be blown away by this year’s stellar line up of talent which includes Red Herring, Pastel Supernova Tanya Cheex, Lucky Minx, Kitten de Ville and SO MUCH MORE!
