Shake up your work week with inspiring art and design! She Does the City is excited to  partner once again with the Design Exchange for Party Politics: An evening of creativity, design, fashion, food & drink.

If you joined us at our Grand Soiree with Grand Marnier for the Christian Louboutin exhibit or This Is Not A Work Party , then you know that these DX events are the most fun way to view current exhibits, and a lively evening to enjoy with friends.

The exhibit, Politics of Fashion | Fashion of Politics (guest curated by international fashion icon Jeanne Beker with DX curator Sara Nickleson), spotlights the numerous ways fashion has helped ignite political awareness and how politics have dictated style through the decades. Notable pieces to check out include the Rudi Gernreich ‘Monokini’ (1964), PETA’s “Murder” Coat (2010), and VIVA Glam Corset and Thigh High Boots (1994) by Abel Villarreal.

Food will be catered by Parts & Labour, music by DJ Mama Knows (who regularly DJ’s AGO’s First Thursdays), and artist Cameron Lee will doing a special performance, Instant Fashion. As usual, She Does the City’s Becca Lemire will be snapping pics of stylish guests throughout the evening; make Tyra proud and strike your fiercest pose.

If there was ever a party to experiment with that shiny jacket you found at a garage sale, or that dress you splurged on for no good reason, THIS IS IT.  (Or just wear whatever you normally do. No pressure. We just want to see you, k?)
