The countdown to Canada’s first Sensation Party “The Ocean of White” is on: Party-goers, mark your calendars for June 1, 2013. These parties are larger-than-life international all-white electronic dance events. Apparently, for Toronto’s edition thrown by Bud Light, flames will shoot from the ceiling, acrobats will be flinging themselves around every which way, and giant jellyfish will float in the air. A private preview last week at Andrew Richard Designs gave us a little taste of what’s to come.

The event started with a classy, corporate feel. Bud Light girls clad in white minis greeted us at every turn. Mermaids were draped behind the bars, blowing bubbles and smiling gorgeously. Guests were invited to munch on fish tacos and spicy pineapple shrimp, washed down with frosty bottles of Bud Light Platinum or Bud Light, of course.

Once the room was full, all eyes were on the stage, where both a Bud Light and Sensation rep welcomed everyone and explained the history of Sensation parties. They started in The Netherlands and early on, the Sensation team persevered through the heartbreaking death of a member of their team. Slowly but surely, Sensation parties have happened in over 20 countries around the world, one house music moment at a time.

Fittingly, at this point in the presentation, mysterious DJ Mr. White came out and started spinning tunes. And all of a sudden…smoke machines! Strobe lights! House beats! Bud Light Sensation was in full effect. Cue the Bud Light girls busting out the moves. And the rest, as they say, was a dance party.

Bud Light Sensation will be taking over the Rogers Centre on June 1, 2013. Tickets go on sale March 8th at 10am, so pick yours up before they sell out!
