The Equity for Women of Colour (E.W.o.C.) Project has begun painting a series of murals at 10 Boultbee. Join in tomorrow for this beautiful community art revitalization initiative in Toronto’s east end!

In partnership with Toronto Community Housing and TakingItGlobal, these murals aim to expand the visible representation of women of colour in public art. The incredible pieces stretch over ninety-feet long in total and depict women of colour who are activists, change-makers, and re-imaginings of classic heroines.

Artists Shafia Shaikh, Sophie Lau, Mahjabeen Kabir and Monica Gutierrez will be painting alongside community members to animate the wall.

The E.W.o.C. Project: Community Mural is happening tomorrow (Saturday, October 6) between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. at 10 Boultbee (Recreation Room, Ground Floor). Please note: You can most easily access the Recreation Room from the back of the building. This route will lead you past the wonderful artwork, to the back door of the room.

This event is open to the public. Kids welcome!
