Eve Ensler, the brain behind The Vagina Monologues, is partnering with director Tanisha Taitt to bring audiences a play about the rich lives of girls around the globe.
Through monologue, song, and spoken word, Emotional Creature showcases young women who rise to the challenge of being their authentic selves in a world that is telling them to do otherwise. Performed by 13 young ladies (ages 13 to 19), Emotional Creature gives full expression to their secret voices and innermost thoughts, while highlighting the diversity and commonality of the issues they face.
Tickets start at $20 and proceeds will benefit the Metro Action Committee on Violence Against Women and Children.
Emotional Creature will be held May 28th at 8:00 PM and on May 29th at 2:00 PM (a matinee) on the main stage of the Young People’s Theatre (165 Front St East).
