Remember those afternoons spent leaping around your bedroom at the age of 8, singing into a hair brush with your best friend? Fact: we can almost guarantee that two out of the three songs you would have been “singing” were by Alanis Morissette, though the chances that you ever saw her perform live during this (awesome) period of your life are slim to none. Well, the time is nigh. Finally!

Alanis will be coming to Montreal on Tuesday, October 16, performing at the Metropolis (59 St-Catherine East). Opening for her will be HER HUSBAND (since 2010) rapper Souleye. They even have a daughter together whose first name is ‘Ever’. Is that weird? Anyway, it’s Alanis so whatever, we’re down.

Her newest album “Havoc and Bright Lights” was released in August, and while she will no doubt perform an abundance of new music, there is no way she will forget her largest fan base, those forged during her heyday in the 90s. The songs we would personally love to hear live are Ironic, You Oughta Know, Uninvited and most especially, Thank You. Alanis, are you listening?

Tickets are steep, starting at $66.20. Honestly though, seeing one’s pre-teen idol does come at a price – a price we are ready, willing and able(ish) to pay in our mid-twenties. This could be the show of a lifetime, just sayin’.
