7pm. An Evening with Oprah Winfrey @ Bell Centre, 1909 Avenue des Canadiens-de-Montréal. I jokingly told a friend visiting LA this week to look out for Oprah while he’s down there. Joke’s on me, clearly, as Oprah’s speaking tour comes to Montreal this week. She will “share stories and insights from throughout her life and illustrate ways attendees can take control of their lives to reach their full potential.” Tickets range from $95 to $355. 8:30pm. Corinna Rose Album Launch @ Club Lambi, 4465 St-Laurent. Join our girl Corinna Rose for the release of her first full-length and self-produced album, Northeast Southwest. 9pm. “Bad Ladies and The Detective” Neo Burlesque Show @ Théàtre St-Catherine, 264 St-Catherine East. Good Ladies Productions presents a neo-burlesque multimedia performance, directed by Tokyo’s Nanako Ijichi and inspired by the likes of Blade Runner and 1984. The show will invite audience members to explore contemporary issues, such as surveillance, technology dependency, sexuality in the twenty-first century, and more. Tickets are $20, buy them here.

FRIDAY APRIL 12

8pm. Sugar Sammy @ L’Olympia, 1004 St-Catherine. Comic Sugar Sammy’s En Français SVP show lands in Montreal as part of his 100%-in-French Quebec-wide tour. The show runs for three nights: April 10, 11 and 12. Tickets run from $26 to $46, buy them here.

10pm. DJ Set by Poolside w/ Guilty and DJ Future Shark @ Le Belmont, 4483 St-Laurent. I Love Neon presents LA duo Poolside, who will spin their self-proclaimed “daytime disco” sound, alongside Guilty and DJ Future Shark.

SATURDAY APRIL 13
