Is it weird that every time in hot yoga – when they dim the lights and say, ‘go to a relaxing place’ that my image of the desert is interrupted by Carrie Bradshaw and Samantha Jones riding a camel and bitching about hot flashes? EVERY TIME! Guess I must be excited for the film.

So I’ve been real good about my regime of breakfast, workout and me time. Perhaps the lovely weather is an extra boost – but I feel fantabulous! In fact, I’m feeling sooo good that when I walk around gazing at scenes in the park; children playing, dogs frolicking, squirrels finding bread and  people doing everything from flying kites to tight-rope walking – a soundtrack plays. I wish it wasn’t but for whatever reason it’s that catchy Christmas song from Alvin and the Chipmunks. Bizarre – but I suppose if you switch the lyrics to the birds and the bees, it is in fact chirpy and spring-time’ish. I occasionally try to tune out the Chipmunks and instead sing Ave Maria to myself. Whatever is going on – it’s pretty blissful.

When I’m not sweating buckets at yoga, I’m jogging around the neighbourhood – waving at fellow friends who have also taken up running. There seems to be quite a few of us. I only made the mistake once of trying to stop and chat, we pulled out our earphones, put the Jay-z on low and out of breath had a horrendous catch up session. From now on, it’s a friendly neighbour wave at most.

Although it’s hard to swallow – I have been chasing my Special K breaky with a shot of Cod Liver Oil. It’s really not that pleasant, but does wonders for the skin and joints.

A couple more weeks of this healthy lifestyle – and I will feel super confident to walk poolside in a bikini. Right now. For the moment, my main objective is to tone the arms.

Happy Spring!
