Notorious packrat with a creative streak.

1. There was a leak that left marks on my wall, so this is essentially a cover-up.  I painted it 5 years ago, unfinished or not, it covers the wall.

2. I won a neon pig at The EX a couple years ago.  I cut him up and transplanted his eyes into Evan Ankelman.  I think of him as my bastard son.  Everything about his is asymmetrical.  He’s got a skin disorder on his back, and he’s ill fittest in this world.  He’s dim-witted and loves everyone, but that also makes him very easy to take advantage of.  He calls me dad, but I’m really mean to him.

3. I like collections. I’m a packrat.

4. I silk-screened the t-shirt myself.  It’s Chop Chop Master Onion from PaRappa  the Rapper.

5. Every time I get a fortune I save it.  Why wouldn’t you?

6. I like collecting paper ephemera like language cards, anything I can incorporate into my illustration and design work.

7. These are my dad’s glasses. He grew up in South Africa.  He was never hip, but when he was younger he tried to be a little bit cool.

8. I lost the other of each pair, so I wear these together.  Since one is Irish and the other English, I think I’m helping resolve the conflict. Socks are all different,  but these just feel right, like they were meant to be worn together.

9. I took a sewing class and was unimpressed with all the girlie pin cushions, so I decided to make my own.  Also, sticking pins into a brain amuses me.

10. Part of my thrift shop collection of thin – to – skinny ties spanning decades.

11. A portrait of me I got from a friend for my birthday this past year.

12. I got these jet plane cufflinks from a church bazaar in Winnipeg for 25 cents!
