On July 17, in celebration of the 2015 Pan Am games, Daniels Spectrum presents SOMOS: A Latin American-Canadian Exhibition & Between Spheres, two group art exhibitions featuring twenty local and international contemporary artists.

SOMOS: A Latin American-Canadian exhibition, is curated by the Toronto based duo Clandestinos who have united ten Latin American-Canadian artists in an affirmation of Pan-American culture and a celebration of its diverse roots and heritage.

Between Spheres presents the work of ten artists exploring themes of identity, human relationships, place and movement through the use of balls, spheres and cyclical objects. Curated by Pamela Edmonds and Magdalyn Asimakis, Between Spheres opens in conjunction with the games. The concept is rooted in the early use of the rubber ball, an object that was engaged with various aspects of life from the time of its invention in 1600 BC.

The Opening Reception for this dual exhibition will be held at Daniels Spectrum (585 Dundas Street East) on Friday July 17 from 6-10 pm. The exhibitions are open to the public daily (Monday–Friday 8 am – 9 pm, Saturday–Sunday 10 am – 6 pm) from July 17 – August 31.
