In 1994, friends of Dufferin Grove Park erected two campfire pits on the park’s main thoroughfare, to keep the park bright and buzzing into the night. You and your friends can book a spot in the park, bring your favourite s’mores fixins, ghost stories, guitars, and have a good ol’ fashioned campfire in the middle of the city. The spots are free, but they suggest a $10 maintenance fee when you book, so round up some toonies from your homies. One spot is reserved for groups with children, the other is open season. Campfires end at 10 pm, just in time for you to make your way, smelling deliciously of smoke and marshmallows, to your favourite patio for a beer. Sounds like the perfect summer evening to us. To book a campfire, call 416 392-0913 or email staff@dufferinpark.ca Don’t forget to bring your own firewood-they usually have some kindling on hand. They can also lend you some cookin’ tools to make your own outdoor feast. May we also suggest bringing some sparklers?
