This year will be this bodacious beauty’s third time participating in [FAT]

Favourite thing you’ve ever modeled for [FAT]?
Either: Corset for Starkers or this topless – necklace – tutu number for Elizaveta Yankelovich.

Most awkward moment on the runway?
I’ve been topless twice on the runway for FAT, and the first time my grandmother was in the audience. Although, it was probably more awkward for her.

What do you, as a model, get out of Alternative Fashion Week that you can’t get anywhere else?
There is something very relaxed about FAT, unpretentious, and fun. I get to do something I really enjoy (model) while gaining runway experience with up and coming designers.

Describe your own personal style:
Simple. A lot of black, grey, and white. I own two pairs of pants and hate wearing them. I’m more or a dress/skirt and leggings kind of girl. I tend to show cleavage a lot, and I don’t wear jewelry.

Toronto east or Toronto west?
Toronto West – Liberty Village.

As a kid, were you doing anything that, in retrospect, may have lead up to your modeling?
Without sounding too pretentious…as a young teen I didn’t have a sense of shame or embarrassment, really. I spent a lot of time putting together weird and ridiculous outfits, which got me a lot of attention (not always good), especially at school.  I got used to people staring at me, and in fact – enjoyed it. I like putting myself out there – which is important for modeling, and to be completely honest – I love attention.

What are you most likely to be doing at 2 a.m. on a Saturday night?
Either in bed watching a movie or drunkenly walking home from somewhere with my boyfriend, unless it’s winter and then I am trying to survive a cab ride home.  Or I’m asleep, because I’m cool like that.

If you weren’t doing what you are doing now, what would you be doing?
I really don’t know. I have been modeling since I was 17, and until recently not a lot was happening for me. I signed with a great agency, and now my career seems to have a bit more potential for success and longevity.  I could never work a 9 – 5 desk job, outside the arts.

What’s your favourite item in your closet?
I wear camisoles and cardigans a lot. Right now, my favourite piece is a black silk dress with a v- neck and cap sleeve.

What’s a summer 2010 trend that you won’t be wearing?
Anything cropped. I see a lot of girls wearing cropped leather jacket and blazers, which happen to only look great on a select few. As for shoe trends, I don’t think clogs will make it into my wardrobe, only because at 5’10 you need to be very selective with what ‘height enhancing shoes’ you wear. Clogs probably won’t make the cut.

Most aggravating part of the job?
Waiting and being patient. I’m the kind of person who wants everything to happen right now!

Most gratifying?
Seeing a happy client.

Fill in the blank: ________ is the new black: I am the new black. Haha kidding. But really…Black isn’t going anywhere. Ever.
