Old Wig Vintage Sale @ Bain Mathieu, 2915 Ontario. OldWig Vintage hosts a vintage/art/music sale this week at the Bain Mathieu – a former 1930s-era bath/pool house. Over 25 collectors and boutiques will participate in the event, with evening performances by local bands. The sale will open from 5pm to 10pm both Thursday and Friday, and 12pm to 5pm on Saturday. 7th Montreal Underground Film Festival @ Peut-être Vintage, 6029 Parc. Otherwise known as MUFF 7, the seventh annual Montreal Underground Film Festival holds its opening night bash this Thursday at Sala Rossa (4848 St-Laurent), followed by three days of screenings at Peut-être Vintage. Low-budget North American and European films will be showcased – check out the full program! Opening night is $7, subsequent evenings are $5 each.

PouzzaFest 2012 @ several Montreal venues. Kick off your May long-weekend with PouzzaFest 2012, Montreal’s annual punk/ska festival that features over 100 well-known and up-and-coming bands at many fantastic venues, including Club Soda and Foufs. Some familiar names (from my 16 year-old punk days, anyway) include Lagwagon, Less Than Jake, The Bouncing Souls, Hot Water Music and The Flatliners. Mosh pit mouth guards at the ready, please! Montreal’s Anarchist Bookfair @ Centre d’éducation populaire de la Petite-Bourgogne et de St-Henri (2515 Delisle) & Centre Culturel Georges-Vanier (2450 Workman). Bookstores, authors and publishers from across North America will be on hand with their wares this weekend for the annual Montreal Anarchist Bookfair – film-screenings, workshops and public discussions will also be incorporated into the two-day event.
