POP Montreal @ many Montreal venues. This year’s edition of POP Montreal will feature over 100 shows and events with over 600 artists in attendance. Gotye, K’NAAN, Grimes and many, many more great musicians will be in the city – here is the full schedule of all talks, art shows and concerts. THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 20 TO SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 30

International Black Film Festival @ select cinema spaces across the city. Founded in 2005, Montreal’s International Black Film Festival (at the time known as the Montreal Haitian Film Festival) continues to celebrate the best and most beautiful of the Black film genre, in addition to creating a space to debate pertinent cultural and social issues. This year’s festival will feature dozens of new, exciting films; information about individual tickets and passes is available here.

THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 20

12pm. Audio Blood’s Afternoon Soirée @ Le Divan Orange, 4234 St-Laurent. In collaboration with POP Montreal, Audio Blood presents an afternoon of fabulous local tunes at Divan Orange, including Lakes of Canada, Gabrielle Papillon, Dinosaur Bones and more. The best part: it’s entirely free! The soirée ends at 7pm.

10pm. GREEZY STEEZ @ Cabaret du Mile End, 5240 Parc. Vice and Monster Energy Drink present Juicy J of Three Six Mafia and Joey Bada$$ for a solid night of drinks n’ dance. RSVP here!

FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 21

7pm. Gotye @ Metropolis, 59 St-Catherine East. There was no way we were going to fail to mention that Gotye (the wonderful Belgian-Australian, Somebody That I Used to Know guy – yes, you know exactly who he is!) is in Montreal this Friday (with POP Montreal). Tickets are $54.20 and there are still some available here! New York duo Chairlift will open the night.

SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 23

12:30pm. Indie Montreal Day Party and Brunch @ Le Divan Orange, 4234 St-Laurent. Indie Montreal presents the best hangover cure yet, free brunch and free live music on a Sunday afternoon. Tunes begin at 1pm. Line-up can be found here. A great way to end another great year of POP Montreal!

1pm. Art of the Tease: Gaze, Gloves and the Get-Down @ 229 Vieux-Port. Hosted by award-winning international performers Miss Bonbon Bombay and The Lady Josephine, this two-hour workshop will cater to beginners interested in the art of burlesque, and “sensual dance choreography”. Meow. 30$.
