SATURDAY JULY 21

4:30pm. FREE BIKE-IN @ Terrasse St-Ambroise, 5080 St-Ambroise. The McAuslan patio will be turned into a sprawling 1970s classroom in order to screen a few of the wackiest, most horrific classroom educational films from the 60s, 70s and 80s. POP Montreal and Le CineClub/The Film Society will co-present a 90-minute smorgasbord of original 16mm classroom films that will rock you, shock you, choke you up and make you cry from laughing. Films in the program will include: Shake Hands with Danger (on the consequences of playing in heavy machinery); The Devil’s Toy; 200 (a 70s flick paying tribute to America’s 200th birthday); The Fur Coat Club (ostensibly about the dangers of shoplifting, but unconsciously about fur fetishism); Joyride: An Auto Theft; Cipher in the Snow; Dirt Witch Cleans Up; Safety Play Danger Places; Toothache of a Clown. There will also be DJs supplying the tunes. Free admission. 4:30pm-midnight.

8pm. Hear This – Benefit Concert @ Sala Rossa, 4848 St-Laurent. Benefit Concert for InstruMontreal, with 4 bands performing: Les Monstres Terribles, Sean Foster & The Vaqueros, Hypocrites, and Natalie Riviere.
