8pm. M60 @ Cinema Excentris, 3536 St-Laurent. M60, the Montreal 60 Second Film Festival, is back for its fifth edition, presenting 85 one-minute movies on the theme: FAUX PAS. M60 has no judges, no jury, no prizes and no submission fees. It accepts filmmakers on a first-come, first-served basis, welcoming amateurs and professionals alike. Filmmakers had one month to complete their films, and will screen the results – everything from mind-blowing masterpiece to the nearly unwatchable – this weekend. These are identical screenings – every film will be presented on all three nights. $8.

D. N. P. 2012 @ Eastern Bloc, 7240 Clark. Experimental art collaboration Département des Nuisances Publiques’s (D.N.P.) new show explores anonymity and identity. Other D.N.P. offerings this weekend include an artist workshop, “Trolling the Internet for Fun and Profit” (Sept 15, 2pm, bring your laptop), an artist talk (Sept 15, 3pm), and a panel discussion (Sept 16, 5pm).
