Free Screening of David Lynch’s Blue Velvet @ Esplanade de la Place des Arts
As part of the Montreal World Film Festival, all week Loto Quebec will present Movies Under the Stars, free outdoor screenings of classic films. This Thursday, catch David Lynch’s 1986 surrealist thriller Blue Velvet , starring Kyle MacLachlan, Isabella Rosselini, and Denis Hopper. English with French subtitles. Other featured Movies Under the Stars include Shall We Dance (Friday Sept 3rd), C’eravamo tanto amati (Saturday Sept 4th), The Return of Martin Guerre(Sunday Sept 5th) & Cyrano de Bergerac (Monday Sept 6th).

Art Hotel @ Espresso Hotel
Arthouse is expanding and taking its choose your own adventure theatre experience downtown to Espresso Hotel for one night only. This time around boasts sixteen theatre based performance pieces, two films, two experimental film/performance pieces, one dance piece, the work of one author, one musician, three visual artists and more! Each of the shows is staged in a different space from hotel rooms, to the pool, even the parking garage! All of the shows are performed in repetition throughout the night, so the audience can watch as many or as few shows as they like, choosing their own experience.

M on the Quays @ Quai Jacques Cartier
Biz Markie (pictured) will headline M for Montreal’s M on the Quays, a free non-stop outdoor Labour Day weekend fiesta in the Old Port. Artists (including BIZ, VOIVOD, PRIESTESS, SILLY KISSERS, LE MATOS and many more) will play on two stages (NRJ, CHOM) and DJs (CHERRY COLA, TRAP and ORANGE ORANGE) will fill transitions. Wild in the Streets @ McGill Campus
CKUT and the Pirates of the Lachine Canal present: Wild in the Streets, a free all-day outdoor concert and BBQ on the McGill campus. Artists performing throughout the course of the day include:
