10pm. Silver Dapple @ Quai Des Brumes, 4481 rue St-Denis. Osheaga isn’t the only big ticket in town this weekend. The Montreal Electronique Groove festival (better known as MEG) is currently hosting a smorgasbord of nightly shows at venues around Montreal until August 5th. Canadian electro and indie rock acts are showcased, with a smattering of international bands, DJs and producers thrown in for variety. This Wednesday, Montreal fuzz pop duo Silver Dapple plays Quai Des Brumes. $15.

THURSDAY AUGUST 2

9pm. Honheehonhee + Chevalier Avant Garde @ Quai Des Brumes, 4481 rue St-Denis. Montreal indie act Honheehonhee and Montreal shoegaze/electronica duo Chevalier Avant Garde play Quai Des Brumes as part of MEG. Tickets $10.

9pm. Pat Lepoidevin and Kieran Blake @ Le Cagibi, 5490 St-Laurent. Sackville, New Brunswick’s Pat LePoidevin joins Montreal’s Kieran Blake for a folk rock double header at Cagibi.

10pm. The Jezebels @ Sala Rossa, 4848 St-Laurent. For those of you who can’t get enough of Australian indie quartet The Jezebels, catch ‘em this Thursday at Sala as part of MEG, and then on Friday at Osheaga. Tickets $15

FRIDAY AUGUST 3, SATURDAY AUGUST 4 & SUNDAY AUGUST 5

Osheaga @ Parc Jean Drapeau. The epic three-day music fest you’ve been awaiting all summer is finally here. SATURDAY AUGUST 4

7pm. Xenia Benivolski: In Search of Relief @ W WTWO, 170 Jean Talon Ouest, Unit 206. Using dollar store wrapping paper and a sanding block, MTL/TO-based artist Xenia Benivolski produces monochromatic relief drawings, focusing upon a selection of textures found and produced within her domestic environment. Vernissage at W WTWO 7pm-midnight, show runs until August 9.

SUNDAY AUGUST 5

10pm. Gesaffelstein @ Club Soda, 1225 St-Laurent. French electro producer Gesaffelstein (aka Mike Levy) plays Club Soda on the closing night of the MEG festival. Tickets $20.
