There are a lot of great beers being brewed in Ontario right now, and what better way to celebrate Canada Day than to try and meet the people behind them?

The Brewer’s Backyard takes the concept of a beer garden to the next level, giving you an opportunity to learn more about Ontario brewers in the relaxed, scenic setting of Evergreen Brick Works (550 Bayview Ave). Each event typically features between 5 and 7 breweries – Sawdust City, Collective Arts, Indie Alehouse, Sweetgrass Brewing Co., and Beau’s are just some of the breweries that have participated recently– as well as local food vendors serving up eats in the Koerner Gardens and Holcim Gallery. This year also marks the launch of Alias Brewing, a collaboration brewing label that creates unique beers for Brewer’s Backyard and elsewhere.

The Canada Day edition takes place July 1 from 11-5 p.m. and admission is free.
