Peppermint mocha, the first spotting of Christmas lights, Macaulay Caulkin as a child: there are many things that usher in the holiday season, but for us a visit to the One Of A Kind Holiday Show has become a treasured tradition to officially kick off the merriment.

With over 900 vendors touting handmade gifts, it’s like Santa’s Workshop, but with real life people making things spurred by passion and imagination.

Whether you’re looking for unique touches to decorate your home, beautiful gifts for your loved ones, or a holiday outfit that makes you smile, wandering #OOAKX16 is a most pleasurable experience, for this most wonderful time of the year.

Beyond shopping, we also love meeting all the vendors who come from near and far across the country to share their pride and joy. Ask them about their wares; each maker will have their own one of a kind story.

In the above collage, we selected six items/makers that we’re very excited about. Be sure to stop by their booths!

Laura Jaschke Planters, Rimanchik Felt Tote, Amanda Moss Dress, Matt Bowness Necklace, Sandra Dumais Print, Lyndsay Borschke Toques, Amber Pollett Wreath, and Lisa Dickie Sweatshirt.

This year’s #OOAKX2016 runs from November 24 to December 4 at the Enercare Centre at Exhibition Place. For hours of operation, including late night shopping, go here. Explore more #OOAKX16 artisans and makers here. Or search using #OOAKDIARIES on Instagram.
