Down a couple Oranje-colored screwdrivers (if Holland’s your team), or suck back a few cans of San Miguel (if you’re rooting for Spain) and head to one of these excellent venues for Sunday’s World Cup Final:
-Café Olympico (124 St Viateur Ouest): Inside, folding chairs are set up in rows, mock-stadium style, while the game is projected on to generously sized screen. Outside, a flat screen TV displays the action for everyone who couldn’t get inside. Order an iced-coffee, Olympico boasts the best in Montreal.
-Frappe (3900 St Laurent): Offers two outdoor terraces for viewing, one on St-Laurent and one out back. Too crowded? Head to Copacabana (3910 St Laurent) next door.
-Le Massillia (4543 Parc): Footy is Marseillaise bistro Le Massillia’s raison d’etre. Ex-pats flood the place nightly to watch soccer matches and drink Ricard. Spirits may be lower than usual after France’s first round elimination, but it’s as close to the European football experience as you’ll get.
Game starts @ 2:30pm EST. Arrive earlier if you plan on sitting.
