10 pm MothUp @ The Ossington, 61 Ossington Ave. Come listen to or share your tales of Terror! Frightening experiences! Tricks and/or treats! Or just your best Hallowe’en story! Stories must be 5-7 minutes, from personal experience (TRUE), and prop-free. Flashlights provided for lighting up faces campfire-style.  

8 pm Pumpkin Carving Contest @ The Gild, 352 Dupont St. The deets: BYOP (Bring your own pumpkin) and tools, maximum 3 people per team, patterns or free-hand, no trash-talking (only smack talk allowed), and winner gets a super awesome gift! 

8 pm Frantic City/Get Hip Party @ Unlovable, 1415-B Dundas St. W. Pittsburgh garage rock band The Cynics play an acoustic set and Garage Rock DJs play music to dance to.  

9 pm Wild Horses @ Watusi, 110 Ossington Ave. A classic rock dance party featuring the very best in 50’s, 60’s, 70’s & 80’s rock n’ roll.  

9:30 pm Box Social @ 751, 751 Queen St. W. DJs Misty and Yvo are teaming up to dazzle you in musical finery and the number of times they can sing “motherfuck” in a single song. Expect to hear the best in punk rock, rockabilly, doo wop, soul, ska and whatever they (and you) feel like dancing and drinking to. 

10 pm Switched On @ Camp 4, 1173 Dundas St. W. DJs Jaime Sin and Pamm play indie rock and indie pop from all the eras.  

9 pm Sheezer, Sister @ The Garrison, Dundas St. W. All-girl Weezer cover band. $10 advance from Rotate This and Soundscapes.  

10 pm Dance Armstrong @ Clinton’s, 671 Bloor St. W. Music for winners! Songs that make you want to dance like you’ve won. And won big. Anything and everything from Gorillaz to Bowie, Hot Chip to Jay-Z, The Beatles to Postal Service. $5 (gets you admission to both Dance Armstrong AND Yacht Rock).  

10 pm Yacht Rock @ The Boat, 158 Augusta Ave. Dance to the smoothest music you’ve ever heard in your life. $5 (gets you admission to both Dance Armstrong AND Yacht Rock). 

10 pm Soul Power! @ Starving Artist, 584 Lansdowne St. DJ Catalist graces the decks, playing proper soul the old school way (vinyl only!). 

10 pm Double Dipped @ Naco Gallery, 1665 Dundas St. W. A new monthly for sassy queens and their hetero friends to run the dance floor to the ground and look damn good doing it. Disco, pop, 80’s, R&B, gay jams, etc.  

10 pm Shadows of Motown @ Sneaky Dee’s, 431 College St. The biggest and best Motown, doo-wop, booty shakin’ hits. Live set by Ben Stevenson and the Wondertones at 11 + $3 drinks till 11:30.

10 pm DJ Phantasik @ Painted Lady, 218 Ossington Ave. A night of soul, funk, classic hip-hop, mash-up, classic house and lovers rock.  

11 pm Shake A Tail @ Sneaky Dee’s, 431 College St. 60’s pop, rock, soul, funk, garage, ska, ANYTHING! Always humid. $5. 

12 pm P.S. Kensington @ Kensington Market. The last P.S. Kensington of 2010! Stock up on some heartwarming fun to keep your soul strong for the winter ahead.
