Listen

Kathryn Calder from New Pornographers is hitting up the Biltmore this Friday to perform her debut solo album.  Tickets are only $12, and the show starts at 8:00pm.

Dance

Candy buffet, bands, and a time capsule await you at Library Square this Thursday.  Vancouver Central Library is celebrating their super sweet 16 with an all ages bash.  Grab a ticket and indulge in a little weekday party.

While you’re at Kathryn Calder you may as well stick around for Ice Cream Social’s Rock and Roll party.  This busy, bumping night with your favourite vintage tunes is the perfect way to kick off the long weekend.

Post-Rapture

Kitty Nights is hosting a post-rapture bash this Sunday to celebrate the end of the-end-of-the-world.  There’s no better way to end it than burlesque dancers and cheap beer!

The Waldorf is hosting Wyrd III, a multi-stage, multi-band extravaganza this Sunday.  For $20 you get to see 19 great Canadian bands.  Another solid post-rapture option.

In Addition

The Vancouver Alpine Club wants to give you free beer tomorrow.  Pacific Western will have five brews for you to sample, including my current fav cheap beer, Cariboo Cream Ale.  Get there right at 7pm to maximize your freebies!

The Found Footage Festival at the Rio promises hilarious clips from days past.  The curators gather VHS tapes from garage sales, dumpsters, and thrift stores to create a show guaranteed to your nineties sensibilities.
