“BACK TO SCHOOL”, “FALL FASHION”, “SEASON PREMIERES” – enough already!!! Finally the rain has ceased and I’m not going to let the corporate world rush my summer into some frantic fall frenzy.

I’m not ready to be pushed from a hot patio to run and purchase September denim and trendy moccasins. Please give me more hours that I can justify mid afternoon sunny beer cheers!

Although the summer escapes us quickly, I do admittedly find the idea of ‘back to school’ somewhat cathartic. Nothing says A FRESH NEW START like a newly purchased notebook and a juvenile pencil case stuffed with bold coloured stationary ‘must haves.’ Yes, the dribblings from an aggressively pushed eraser and smell of white out offer top notch nostalgia.

But enough pining for yesterday years of opening text books, hoping that the name scrawled in the cover was that of a cool girl from the year above, carefully dissecting the way she dots her ‘I’s” – for now it’s time to soak up summer while it lasts.

Alas, the rain has stopped, now we can all head two by two to the nearest patio.

Dog days of summer to be relished while they last.

I miss the big decision of choosing a new lunchbox with matching thermos.

F*CK FACES
If the bloated whale with spouting blood is any indication of what this night will be like, then I’d say, messy and vile on a gigantic scale. Drink beer and stuff your face with dirty nachos after a night of frantic electro dance moves. DJ Barbi, she’s so hot:

Goin’ Steady @ The Boat

Guys and girls, it’s time again to put on your pretty polka dot dress and do the Madison. If I ever find myself in a room full of people that can synch up and do the Madison together in five straight lines a la Hairspray (original) then I’ll be glowing with happiness. To see how to do it: VIDEO

Exceptionally pleasing. 50’s and 60’s, surf + soul + ska + making out

Santa Cruz on actual boat – Captain John’s

Although at times you may feel a little sea sick, partying on Captain John’s ship is fun. Firstly, it’s nice to feel like you are out exploring the ocean, despite being docked at Lake Ontario harbour, second – it’s really amusing to walk the narrow hallways and look at photos of famous people, like fake SPICE GIRLS groups posing with Captain John with real life glob of tartar sauce on chin. It’s always nice to see the return of our favourite night from five years ago – especially when they do the mailbox thing and you can leave people dirty notes; and receive a couple.

Party under the Don Valley Parkway
