A new weekly profile in which we take you window-shopping at our favourite local stores in Montreal (but then it’s up to you to do the actual shopping, sawry).

It isn’t just the clothes that makes Lola & Emily my favourite boutique in Montreal; it’s like stepping into the apartment of my dreams complete with clothes-strewn bed, flower-decorated shelves and shoe-covered coffee tables. (Think a smaller, cozier Anthropologie.) Really, I’d like to just move in.

What You’ll Find: Mixing the whimsical (Lola) with the classic (Emily), the store offers the prettiest mix of one-of-a-kind and everyday pieces. There’s Montreal’s own Ça Va de Soi, for sweaters and other staples in natural Egyptian cottons and cashmere; casual feminine separates from Filippa K and Designers Remix Collection; the most basic basic in the history of basics, the perfect t-shirt from Velvet by Graham and Spencer; boho dresses from Free People – what up, Osheaga – and dainty silk ones from Yumi Kim. Prints are everywhere, on J Brand jeans, tops from Gestuz and frocks from Something Else. And they even have Les Petites now, a popular label in France, if you’re into that whole effortless Parisian chic thing (…I am). The popsicle-bright, lacy Cosabella lingerie is both a staff and customer favourite, as are the simple sandals and ballet flats from Yosi Samra.
