Montreal Electronic Groove @ several city venues. Yet another great music festival takes over the city for eleven days of electronic, groove and funk music with well-known and rising Canadian and European artists: the Montreal Electronic Groove. Notable acts include The Balconies (July 26 @ Sala Rossa), Groenland (July 27 @ Divan Orange), The Jezebels (August 2 @ Sala Rossa) and many, many more. Ticket prices vary; passes are available.

9:30pm. The Unsettlers @ Le Divan Orange, 4234 St-Laurent. One of our favourite and quirkiest Montreal acts, The Unsettlers, take the stage for a very special summer performance with friends The Locusts Have No King and The Unquiet Dead. 10pm. Riton + Mayday + Shatie Miotto @ La Mouche, 1280 St-Denis. Newcastle’s DJ Riton will spin all night at club La Mouche, along with DJ Mayday and Montreal’s Shanie Miotto, presented by ILOVENEON. Grab them dancin’ shoes. Tickets are $12.

Take Off Your Clothes Montreal @ Place des arts, 175 St-Catherine West. This is a perfect opportunity to wipe your wardrobe slate clean – one of the city’s biggest clothing swaps will take place this weekend at Place des arts! Tickets are $10 and rules about the types of clothes you can swap are very specific – all guidelines are available here. To participate in the swap, you must donate items.

SUNDAY JULY 29

8pm. The XX @ Metropolis, 59 St-Catherine East. British Indie pop band The XX lands back in Montreal, accompanied by Montreal’s own Jacques Greene. The XX’s second album ‘Coexist’ is set to drop this September! Tickets start at $34.
